Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) will do whatever it takes to clear his tainted reputation in the next episode of "Gotham" season 2, even if it means that he has to seek help from an unexpected ally.
According to the synopsis for the episode, titled "Wrath of the Villains: Into the Woods," Gordon will get hold of his file case to clear his name in Theo Galavan's (James Frain) murder. But fans will be shocked when they find out that Gordon will turn to Edward Nygma (Cory Michael Smith) for help since he was the one who framed him in the first place.
Based on the trailer for the episode, Nygma's transformation from an ordinary resident of Gotham City to being Batman's maniacal enemy The Riddler is starting to unfold. He is seen in the trailer walking in the snowy woods while blurting out the riddle, "A nightmare for some, for others a savior I come, my hands cold and bleak, it's the warm hearts they seek."
The trailer also shows the despair of Oswald Cobblepot (Robin Lord Taylor), and he is seen grieving the death of his father, Elijah Van Dahl (Paul Reubens). The synopsis reveals that Oswald will discover that his step-family was involved in his father's untimely death. This could lead to a big altercation between The Penguin and the Van Dahl family, led by the ruthless and money-hungry socialite Grace Van Dahl (Melinda Clarke).
Also, the trailer reveals that Barbara Kean (Erin Richards) is also back in the city after waking up from a coma in the Arkham Asylum in episode 16. But will she immediately go after Gordon, or will Dr. Hugo Strange (B.D. Wong) ask her to do something first?
The next episode of "Gotham" season 2 is scheduled to air on Monday, April 11, on Fox.
