The upcoming Google Nexus X release date will happen ahead the launch of Android L OS.

Android Authority reported that Google Nexus X will be released in mid-October, probably on the 15th or the 16th. Meanwhile, Google's new mobile software Android L OS, which was announced last Google I/O developers' conference, will roll out on Nov. 1.

It was previously reported that the Nexus X release date will happen on Halloween or on Oct. 31. Other reports claimed that the handset will arrive in November alongside other Google devices such as the Nexus 8 tablet and a new Google wearable or smartwatch.

The Nexus X is rumored to pack a larger screen display with 2K (1440 x 2560) pixel resolution. The handset will be powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 805 CPU and an Adreno 420 GPU to support high res images and videos. The smartphone will also include a pair of stereo speakers in front, a 13MP rear camera and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

Previous rumors stated that the upcoming Nexus smartphone will sport a 5.9-inch screen display with unknown pixel resolution and a fingerprint sensor. With such massive screen display, there were speculations that the handset will be Google's entry to the phablet category.

Meanwhile, Android L is reportedly the biggest Android version in history, packed with more than 5,000 new Application Programming Interfaces (API). However, this is not finalized and more could be revealed in the final build. Earlier predictions state that the Android L will be released with the Nexus 6 and/or Nexus 8. Last year, Google released the Android 4.4 KitKat in late November. This year, the new OS is expected to roll out Over-The-Air in the October to November time frame.

However, Google has not confirmed nor denied any of these rumors. The company is unusually quiet about the details of its devices and roadmap.
