While news about the release of Google Nexus 7 did not make it during the company's Pixel event in early October, speculations claim that next-generation tablet device will be released before the end of 2016.

Early rumors claim that the next-generation Google Nexus 7 will be rebranded as the Pixel 7 upon release since Google decided to remove the Nexus brand on their smartphone devices. However, the tech giant did not mention if they will do the same thing in their upcoming tablet products.

A report from 9 to 5 Google back in September claims that the new tablet from Google will still use the Nexus brand. This could mean that the information that was posted by gadget tipster Evan Blass on Twitter about a 7-inch Nexus tablet from Huawei is real.

According to Blass, the upcoming Google tablet will feature 4 GB of RAM. He also revealed that the device is currently in development, and it is expected to be shipped out to the market before the end of the year.

Other speculations claim that the upcoming Nexus 7 2016 tablet will run using the company's latest Andromeda OS, which comes with some of the best features of the Chrome operating system.

There are also rumors claiming that the upcoming device will be equipped with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 processor, the Adreno 530 GPU, and 64 GB built-in memory space. It is also expected to come out with a 5100 mAh battery for longer life, as well as a USB type-C port. Also, the device is also rumored to feature an AMOLED display and a 13-megapixel primary camera.

PC Advisor tried to reach out with Huawei to ask about the specs of the new Google Nexus 7, but the company's PR declined to comment. "We don't comment on future products, as a matter of policy. Huawei is committed to creating the world's most compelling and innovative devices, offering an exceptional performance and outstanding user experience," the Chinese manufacturer stated.

Details about the upcoming Google Nexus 7 2016 are expected to be unveiled in the coming days.
