Google Clips release date news: Wait lists and long delivery dates

Last October 2017, Google introduced a new gadget or hardware called the "Clips." Although it did capture a lot of people's attention during then, the excitement may have died off in recent months. Surprisingly, the Clips was actually on sale or pre-order these past few days. The only catch is, people who were able to order may have to wait a for quite a long delivery time.

Google silently released the Clips, and people who found out about it were able to order right away. It costs $249, which may seem quite pricey for some, but people have nevertheless willingly pre-ordered the gadget. While they were fortunate to be the first ones to order, the only unfortunate part is that they would need to for a long while.

According to TechRadar, some of those who ordered early have been given arrival dates around late February or early March. Right now, Google has stopped taking orders for the Clips, and instead, it direct those who interested in buying to sign up for the wait list. Google says they will email these people once they are ready to take orders again. However, it never mentioned when, not even an estimated date.

For those who have not been quite updated with Google Clips at all, this new device is powered by an artificial intelligence (A.I.). This A.I. essentially helps people to take the best photos without them even knowing it. It detects the perfect lighting and all those elements of a good picture and automatically takes the shot once these requirements are seen.

The idea here is that people with the Google Clips leave it in a area where they want a picture to be taken. For the most part, that is actually just what people have to do. The rest will be according to the Google Clips. It has a 16-gigabyte (GB) storage and 12-megapixel (MP) lens. People can also take videos with it.

People interested in buying the device can always still sign up for the wait list. Hopefully, once these orders are processed, Google would have better delivery dates. For now, no other announcement dates have been made.
