Google may soon dominate the world of messaging apps as the company's upcoming messaging app called Google Allo continues to get good feedback.
The Mountain View, CA-based online firm announced during its Google I/O event in May that they will be launching their own instant messaging mobile app this year. It is aimed to compete with other existing instant messaging apps like Whatsapp, Viber, Facebook Messenger, as well as the company's own Google Hangouts upon its reported release this summer.
But as early as now, Google Allo is already receiving a lot of positive reviews from those who signed up to join the app's public testing stage, according to a report from Search Engine Journal.
The report said that the upcoming app received a rating of 4.8 stars out of 5 that was published by Google Play Store, which is considered as very impressive since it is still under the development stage.
A report from Phandroid revealed that Google Allo might be released earlier than expected since the tech firm already advertised the app on the New and Updated Apps section in Google Play. The report claimed that since the upcoming app is already in the new apps list, it may be possible to see the pre-registration tag finally changed with the option to download.
Once Google Allo comes out, users could get hold of some of its basic features. It includes the Smart Reply button that gives a suggested text to reply to the last message received, the Incognito mode that allows users to chat privately, the Whisper Shout feature that could change the size of the text with just a quick swipe, as well as the Google Assistant which will help them find information without having to leave the chat window.
Google has yet to announce the exact date when Google Allo will be ready to download.
