The love triangle involving Riley (Rowan Blanchard), Lucas (Peyton Meyer) and Maya (Sabrina Carpenter) will be resolved in an upcoming two-part special in "Girl Meets World" season 3.
These episodes are expected to air this month, but fans just can't wait to know who ends up with Lucas and who is going to be left heartbroken, if there will be one.
On Twitter, the "Girl Meets World" writers spoke a bit about the pairings. For Lucas-Maya also known as Lucaya shippers, the writers had something to say about this idea.
"We love the relationship between Maya and Lucas and wouldn't change it for the world," they said in one tweet. This was taken to mean that the two will be together in "Girl Meets World" season 3.
While it seems to hint that the love triangle will end with Lucas and Maya with the googly eyes, it might not be the case after all.
In the "Girl Meets World" season 3, the love triangle will involve Josh (Uriah Shelton). The writers revealed that Josh has something to do with the fact why a love triangle doesn't exist as they always pointed out.
Maya was head over heels for Josh since the day he met him, which was back in "Girl Meets World" season 1. Josh did not feel the same way because he thinks she is too young for him. In season 2, however, he changed the way he looks at Maya.
Josh is expected to be in both episodes of "Girl Meets Ski Lodge," the "Girl Meets World" season 3 episodes designed to ultimately put this love triangle issue to rest.
Taking into account the somehow romantic past shared by Josh and Maya, "Girl Meets World" season 3 might see them being together instead.
Josh hasn't been vocal about his true feelings for Maya, and that the only thing sure for now is that age is no longer an issue for him as far as engaging in a relationship is concerned.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 might see him confess his feelings for Maya or the latter realizing or rekindling her feelings for him.
"Girl Meets World" season 3 airs every Friday at 7:30 p.m. ET on Disney Channel. The upcoming episode is "Girl Meets Upstate" and is airing July 8.
