Another one of Rory Gilmore's (Alexis Bledel) former boyfriends has been added to the growing list of returning characters for Netflix's "Gilmore Girls" revival after actor Jared Padalecki signed up to reprise his role as Dean Forester.

Padalecki, who currently stars as Sam Winchester in the long-running fantasy-horror series "Supernatural," posted a photo on Instagram, where he posed outside his trailer on the set of the "Gilmore Girls" revival.

Dean was Rory's first serious boyfriend and the longest relationship that she had in the entire series, despite their on and off status. He was briefly married to Lindsay Lister (Arielle Kebbel), but their marriage did not last after he had an affair with Rory. They also tried to start a formal relationship after his marriage ended, but it also ultimately went astray after both of them realized that their lives were going on different paths after Rory moved to Yale.

Padalecki shared his prediction of what Dean has been since his last appearance in "Gilmore Girls," in season 5, during an interview with E! News, which happened at the "Gilmore Girls" reunion panel at the ATX TV Festival in June 2015. According to the actor, Dean is "probably working at Doosey's. Hopefully he's a manager by now. He's flipping the hot dogs and filling up the Slushee machine, he's probably holding down the fort. Dean was always a pretty low-key guy!"

Aside from Dean, Rory's other boyfriends Logan Huntzberger (Matt Czuchry) and Jess Mariano (Milo Ventimiglia) are also returning to Stars Hollow in the upcoming revival of the hit comedy-drama series.

Meanwhile, actress Vanessa Marano revealed a major spoiler for the "Gilmore Girls" revival in an interview with Just Jared Jr. Marano will reprise her role as April Nardini, who was the reason why her father Luke Danes (Scott Patterson) and Rory's mom Lorelai Gilmore (Lauren Graham) broke up in the original series.

"There's no drama that April is at the center of in this revival, which is so nice. She's just kind of there, being a part of the family, which is awesome. I've only shot the one day at this moment in time, so as of right now...April is not breaking up any major couples right now. We'll see how that goes..." Marano revealed.

The revival of "Gilmore Girls" is currently in production, and expected to be released by Netflix later this year.
