Sucker Punch, the studio behind the popular "Infamous" game franchise, has finally revealed their new game. It has been years since they were last seen in gaming news, but they are definitely coming back with this exciting news.
The last time any fans have heard from Sucker Punch was more than four years ago. This was when they released a standalone expansion for their famous game, the "Infamous: Second Son." Since then, the company has remained silent. With their release during the Playstation briefing at Paris Game Week a month ago, one Sony executive has explained what has happened with the studio.
The silence was not entirely welcomed by the fans, especially coming from the release of successful games. Fans would naturally expect to see some more news about their new games. Apparently, Sony wanted to share the news as well, but it was Sucker Punch's idea to delay the announcements of the game's development.
"I think the right thing to do... and I think we're learning and a lot of publishers are learning...there is a right time to announce games," says PlayStation Worldwide Studios SVP Michael Denny in an interview. Denny said that they did not want to repeat past mistakes where they may have announced games too early.
That said, according to GameSpot, Sucker Punch may have wanted Sony to keep silent about their new game because of fear of possible changes. Fans may get their expectations up based on how they would describe the new game, but in the process, Sucker Punch, or any other developer, might do something else differently. The development of a game can go a lot of ways and can even cause developers to start from scratch.
Nevertheless, now that Denny has also revealed that there is a playable game already, they are happy to announce "Ghost Tsushima." According to the trailer, the new open-world game is set in the 1300's during the Mongol Army's invasion of Japan. Tsushima Island was the first island to be invaded.
