GamesCom 2015 dates: Microsoft video game event plans unveiled

Fresh from the success of their recent press conference at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015, Microsoft officially unveiled their plans for their upcoming GamesCom 2015 appearance next month. 

Details about Microsoft's plans for this year's GamesCom was announced by the official Xbox U.K. Twitter account. It includes a link to information about their program for the annual video game trade fair regularly held in Cologne, Germany.

In a post on Xbox News, Microsoft's video game console division announced that they will appear at the upcoming event in full force to present various events and activities. 

Microsoft plans to begin their GamesCom 2015 appearance before the trade fair officially opens. On Tuesday, Aug. 4, they will launch an Xbox briefing that will start at 4 p.m. CEST (10 a.m. EDT). The company plans to unveil the latest games that will be released on Xbox One, including some of the most awaited titles such as Platinum Games' "Scalebound," and the latest installment of Realtime Worlds' "Crackdown." Remedy Entertainment's Alan Wake will also appear onstage to present a new demo of their upcoming action shooter game "Quantum Break." 

Other exciting announcements are also expected to be revealed during the said press briefing.

On Wednesday, Aug. 5, Microsoft will open its Xbox booth from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. CEST. It will continue on Thursday, Aug. 6 up to Saturday, Aug. 9 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. CEST, then on Sunday, Aug. 10, beginning 9 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. CEST. 

GamesCom attendees will get the chance to try out some of the best new games that will be released for the Xbox console, including the "Rise of the Tomb Raider," "Forza Motorsport 6," and "Halo 5: Guardians," among others. 

The company is also planning to hold an Xbox FanFest from Aug. 4 to 5, where fans will have the chance to get exclusive access to upcoming Xbox-exclusive video game titles, as well as first dibs on some of the most exciting announcements for the game console. 

All the events will be held at the Koelnmesse in Germany.
