There will not be new episodes of "Game of Thrones" until 2019, but fans may have already gotten the first potential details about the eighth and final season, courtesy of an alleged leaked scripts from multiple episodes.
Posted by Reddit user KaySen762 from what she claims to be a production iPad, the scenes from the script include one with Cersei (Lena Headey) plotting a desperate plan to defeat the Night King's army that are closing in on Kingslanding and another with Tyrion (Peter Dinklage), The Hound (Rory McCann), Brienne (Gwendoline Christie), and Podrick (Daniel Portman) encountering a White Walker. However, the most intriguing part of the leak is a conversation between Tyrion and Bronn, which reveals a big bombshell: Jaime Lannister's (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) death.
In the transcript, Dinklage's character recalls the castle Jaime has promised Bronn back in season 5 in return for his service to which the latter responds: "Oh, aye. Several times. But now that the old cunt's gotten himself killed, I reckon I'm not going to see neither brick nor mortar of any castle." As the Lannisters always pay their debts, Tyrion then presents him The Twins, the great house of Riverlands formerly of House Frey.
The pages do not indicate how he supposedly dies, but the conversation is part of episode 6. This suggests he may bite the dust on or before the penultimate episode.
Apart from these, the leaker dropped a few more gems about the series finale. Apparently, there will be many other characters that will not make it to the end of the show, including Podrick, Tormund (Kristofer Hivju), and one unnamed Northern lord. Emilia Clarke's Daenerys is carrying a child, too, likely Jon's (Kit Harrington).
There is no way to verify the authenticity of the transcripts until the show returns, so it is highly advised to take the latest leak with a pinch of salt. However, Perez Hilton notes it does have the same format as the previous season's leaked scripts and contains a similar writing style to that of series creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss. It also comes from the same source as season 7's leaks, which turned out to be spot on.
Regardless, with the Night King's army finally breaching The Wall and winter finally coming to Westeros, fans should brace themselves for a high death count of major characters. As to who the unlucky ones are is something fans will have to tune in for.
"Game of Thrones" season 8 has no exact release date at the moment, but Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa on the show, recently let it slip that the last batch of episodes will come sometime in 2019.
