As the show's capper, "Game of Thrones" season 8 is promised to be the biggest yet. While nothing much is known about it, Emilia Clarke, aka Westeros' Mother of Dragons, teases the finale is so intense, it took her a while to take it all in.
Clarke had a chat with Access Hollywood at HBO's Golden Globes after-party this week. As expected, she gave almost nothing about the series finale away other than it is going to be big and totally feel gratifying.
"It's gonna be worth [the wait]," the actress insisted. "Oh my god, it's gonna be worth it."
Clarke went on to share her reaction after reading the script, and if her statement is anything to go by, the viewers are simply not ready for what is coming: "Okay, so I read the scripts this season, and I, in some kind of a daze, walked out of my house. The only thing I took was my keys, and about three hours later I arrived back home, and I still hadn't taken it all in... I don't know if anyone's ready. I don't know if TVs are ready."

"Game of Thrones" is officially returning sometime in 2019. Plot details are currently under tight wraps. According to reports, what is known so far is that a mercenary character named Harry Strickland will be introduced as a member of the Golden Company -- an elite group of fighters Euron Greyjoy (Pilou Asbæk) hired to aid Cersei (Lena Headey) win the Throne war; Ellie Kendrick's Meera Reed will not likely return, and all six episodes will likely be longer than usual.
"Game of Thrones" co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss will co-direct the pilot episode, while David Nutter and Miguel Sapochnik who helmed multiple episodes in the past are also returning. Nutter is most notable for directing "The Rains of Castamere," which included the infamous Red Wedding scene as well as "Mother's Mercy," while Sapochnik helmed some of the biggest episodes like the "Battle of the Bastards," "Hardhome," and the season 6 finale "The Winds of Winter."
