After leaving fans in the dark on the release date of "Frozen 2," Disney has finally announced that the highly anticipated movie sequel is arriving in 2019. While "Frozen" fans have one mystery solved with Disney's confirmation of the sequel's showing date, the guessing game on how its story may possibly pan out is far from over.

It was in March 2015 when Disney announced that it is producing "Frozen 2." After all, with the first "Frozen" movie raking in $1,276,480,335 for Disney, producing a sequel means another opportunity to increase the studio's profits.

Finally, after leaving the fans guessing for a long time as to when the highly anticipated sequel will arrive, Disney announced earlier this week that "Frozen 2" is slated to hit theaters on Nov. 27, 2019. While the movie sequel is still more than two years away, it is already expected to endear itself to the movie-going public and be another monster hit.

Despite the announcement of the release date of "Frozen 2," nothing much is known about the movie. While it is certain that Idina Menzel, Kristen Bell, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff will be back to voice Elsa, Anna, Olaf, and Khristoff anew, respectively, no one outside the production of the animated movie sequel has a concrete evidence on how its story will possibly pan out.

While there are rumors claiming that Elsa will be portrayed as a lesbian, or that the movie will reveal that Tarzan is the long-lost brother of Elsa and Anna, they are nothing more than speculations at this point in time. What is certain now, though, is that Disney is bent on making "Frozen 2" right. After all, it is the first-ever animated movie sequel that it is producing.

"Walt Disney has never made a sequel. They've made Pixar sequels, but they've never made Disney sequels, only straight to DVD... so, it's a very big thing for them to do. They never thought they would...One thing I like about the studio is actually they want the movie to be right. They just don't release things. They wait until it's right...until it's captivating, until it's relevant, passionate," Bell told Collider last month.
