Production for "Frozen 2" officially begins this April, according to star Kristen Bell, who is set to reprise her role as beloved Arendelle sweetheart Anna in the highly anticipated sequel of the Disney blockbuster hit.
In an interview with Collider, the actress revealed that she will be recording her lines for the "Frozen" sequel sometime next month, although she clarified that "they've just written it" and that the story is still being tweaked.
The "Veronica Mars" alum also provided insight into why "Frozen 2" is taking a while to arrive. Fans are still waiting for a release date announcement from Disney, and rumor has it that the film won't hit the silver screen until 2018 at the earliest.
"The story is great, and they exude quality. What I know about that whole team is that they wouldn't just put something out to put it out. That's why it took them so long to even announce that we were doing a second one," Bell said.
"Generally when you have a first successful movie you want to make a second one. It took them a while because they wanted to figure out what story they needed to tell and what would be important and engaging and I think they found it," the 35-year-old went on to say.
Bell also confirmed that song work for "Frozen 2" is yet to commence, although the cast of the movie get together and record "bits of the music" for the movie for "Frozen"-themed amusement parks being put up here and there.
A lot is riding on the soundtrack for "Frozen 2," seeing the rock-solid success of the movie's most notable hit "Let It Go," which won songwriting duo Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez an Oscar.
Rumor has it that in "Frozen 2," Anna and Elsa will share a duet that is believed to replicate, if not top, the feat garnered by the abovementioned song belted out by Idina Menzel, who is the voice actor for the queen of Arendelle.
