The long-awaited and demanded "Friends" cast reunion, airing Feb. 21 on NBC, proved that there is still so much to learn about the legendary sitcom. For starters, an extended clip from the event revealed that only cast member Lisa Kudrow auditioned twice for the show.

The "Web Therapy" star has learned that, before legions of "Friends" fans came to know and love her as Phoebe Buffay, she had to audition twice for the iconic role. It was only during the highly-anticipated "Friends" reunion that she actually knew about this.

During the "Friends" reunion, Kudrow said that she had to also audition for director James Burrows before she got the stint that changed her life. Her "Friends" cast mates including Matt Leblanc, Courteney Cox, David Schwimmer and Jennifer Aniston look puzzled upon the revelation.

This took the "Friends" reunion to a whole new turn. She was noticeably shocked about what she learned and her reaction had the other stars on the couch laughing. While for a moment, things got a bit confusing and awkward, Kudrow just laughed off the whole thing.

Being chosen as Phoebe proved to be the right decision for Burrows anyway, because the star earned an Emmy and a slew of other prestigious awards for her performance as the character, who is best known for her iconic song "Smelly Cat."

With the exception of Matthew Perry (who is currently in London for play rehearsals), the "Friends" cast are reuniting more than a decade after the hit sitcom wrapped up to commemorate Burrows's 1000th directorial episode milestone.

Burrows directed the pilot episode of "Friends," which aired back in 1994. "We would anything for Jim Burrows because he really gave us the opportunity of a lifetime and probably the best 10 years of our acting careers that we will forever remember," Aniston said in the extended clip.

The "Friends" reunion is happening on Feb. 21 at 9 p.m. ET on NBC.
