Popular horror movie franchise "Friday the 13th" is getting another video game adaptation, this time in the form of a quirky puzzle game with grid-based gameplay. Titled "Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle," the game is slated for worldwide launch on Apr. 13, 2018.

"Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle" will be coming to android and apple devices. Aside from a mobile release, the game will also be playable on PC via entertainment distribution website Steam.

Similar to the horror movie franchise and the multiplayer roleplaying game, "Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle" will focus on a group of unlucky campers as they are stalked and murdered at camp by iconic masked murderer Jason Voorhees. The summary on the game's official website reads: "Help horror icon Jason Voorhees stalk and slay campers across 100+ puzzle levels in this all-new game coming to iOS, Android and Steam. From the campgrounds of Crystal Lake to the highrises of Manhattan, from supermax prisons to snowy ski resorts, Jason will terrorize victims across the world... and beyond!"

Players will take on the role of Jason and steer him past puzzles and obstacles towards his unwitting victims, the game has several different locations, and several Jasons for players to control. Some of the Jasons available in-game include: Fun Land Jason, Apocalypse Jason, Uber Jason, Classic Jason and more. Each Jason comes with a uniquely themed outfit and a different mask.

According to PC Gamer, "Friday the 13th: Killer Puzzle" is being developed by Blue Wizard Digital, a company that was set up by a co-founder of PopCap. Blue Wizard Digital created "Slayaway Camp" in 2016. The game, similar to the upcoming "Friday the 13th" puzzle game was a strategic romp that focused on using strategy to move a killer across a grid. Despite its simple premise, the game received very positive ratings from the Steam community.

The upcoming puzzle game will follow the same format, however the actual in-game mechanics have yet to be revealed this early on, and curious fans will have to wait for more updates from Blue Wizard Digital.
