Microsoft's highly anticipated Windows 10 has finally been released, and it comes with an added bonus that "Minecraft" fans would definitely enjoy. Those who now possess the latest operating system from Microsoft can start downloading the "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" beta for free. This has been promised by game developer Mojang during this year's Minecon.
But how does one avail of the latest edition of the popular sandbox survival game?
First, players must log into their Mojang account. Once logged in, a "Redeem" button can be seen. Players need to click on that button to be able to get linked into their Microsoft account where added instructions should be followed to install the latest beta version of the game without having to pay a single cent.
Those who have no "Minecraft" yet but would like to get the Windows 10 Edition beta will not get it for free. They need to pay $9.99 through the Windows Store as long as they have the Windows 10 operating system running on their devices. It can still be considered a reasonable price since "Minecraft" normally sells for around $26.95.
According to PC World, the new "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" beta contains several enhancements from the previous editions of the game. Some of the new features include added support to touch controls and the capacity to record the player's exploits using the GameDVR feature.
The multiplayer version of the new "Minecraft Windows 10 Edition" beta can also work using local networks as well as in Xbox Live. Mojang will also release a future update that will let the game connect to Pocket Edition that can be playable using devices running on iOS, Android, and Windows Phone operating systems.
However, the new Windows 10 edition of "Minecraft" can only work using x64 processors, and it cannot support fan-made mods, Realms, and multiplayer options.
