Epic Games, the developer and publisher of "Fortnite," announced that patch V.2.4.2 (Valentine's event) is now available for "Fortnite" Battle Royale mode players. The release of the same update for Save the World mode, patch V.2.5.0, on the other hand, is delayed to Feb. 14.

Patch V.2.4.2 will feature Valentine's Day themed skins. According to Eurogamer, the two skins available at present are a Cupid-like statue and what looks a human-sized pink bear. Battle Royale players will also get to enjoy a new weapon for the event — Cupid's crossbow. The new weapon comes in both Rare and Epic variants. It fires unlimited arrows and can be found on the ground and inside treasure chests.

Patch V.2.4.2 also contains Battle Royale mode updates. The general update includes switching the Shooting Test #1 Limited-Time mode to Solo only in which the Shooting Test issue has been resolved, the damage for shotgun headshot was increased to 200% and the Scoped Assault Rifle is now 100% accurate when zoomed in and no longer has damage fall-off. Epic Games also fixed the bugs players have complained about — players will no longer slide off rooftops, the Item Shop panels issue was resolved, collision inconsistencies in certain basement corners were also fixed as well as the hole in the terrain south of Retail Row. The Battle Royale update will also include the removal of harsh high-frequency sound from the Chomp Jr pickaxe.

As mentioned earlier, the Valentine's event (Patch 2.5.0) update for Save the World mode will release on Feb. 14. Epic Games said that the delayed release date is because of their concern regarding the stability of the upcoming update. Unlike Battle Royale players, however, Save the World players will be receiving a special Valentine's themed quest called "A Love Story."

Because of the delay of the release of Patch 2.5.0, the upcoming Patch 3.0.0 will also be delayed. Patch 3.0.0, also known as Spring It On event, will feature a new quest as well as new Event Store items.
