Warner Bros. finally found the most ideal director to head the development of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" movie.

Deadline exclusively revealed that the Israeli-British-American filmmaker Gil Kenan recently signed a deal with the film outfit to direct the big screen live-action adaptation of the popular horror video game series.

Kenan is known for his exceptional work for the Academy Award-nominated animated film "Monster House" back in 2006. His most recent work is another horror movie, the "Poltergeist" remake screened this year.

But aside from directing, the 38-year-old filmmaker will also work with "Quantum Break" writer Tyler Burton Smith to pen the script for the upcoming film.

"Five Nights at Freddy's," created by independent game developer Scott Cawthon, became popular because of its horrifying plot wherein players need to survive a night inside a pizza restaurant haunted by a murderous animatronic creature and his band of evil friends.

The success of the game prompted Warner Bros. to buy the rights to bring the "Five Nights at Freddy's" series to the big screen. Roy Lee's Vertigo Entertainment and the KatzSmith Productions of David Katzenberg and Seth Grahame-Smith will collaborate to produce the film, while Jay Ireland and Adam Stone were tapped to be the film's executive producers. Warner Bros.' Jon Berge and Nik Mavinkurve will also keep an eye on the production. The game creator is also reportedly on board to be able to ensure that they will come up with a crazy, terrifying but adorable film all at the same time.

Fans of the game have high hopes for its live-action adaptation. They even came up with a fan-made trailer to let the producers know how they want to see the film once it comes out in theaters.

There are no confirmed actors for the movie yet, but there could be an announcement about it soon.
