'Five Nights at Freddy's' 5? Game goes RPG

The beloved characters of the point-and-click survival horror game 'Five Nights at Freddy's' will soon come in RPG. store.steampowered.com/

After the success of the first four installments of the "Five Nights at Freddy's" point-and-click horror survival video game, developer Scott Cawthon announced that a new "FNaF" game is already in development but it is not called "Five Nights at Freddy's 5."

The independent game developer posted the announcement on the Steam website, saying that the news was not supposed to come out before Halloween but he felt that there was an immediate need to address the confusion caused by the recently released teasers for the next "FNaF" installment.

Cawthon's post revealed that the new game is not a part of the original "Five Nights at Freddy's" story since the first four releases have completed the plot already. But he also said that he wants to use all the beloved characters of his widely popular survival horror game in another type of game that he hadn't made in a while.

According to the "Five Nights at Freddy's" developer, the new game is called "FNaF World," and it is not the usual point-and-click video game that players enjoyed.

"It will not be a horror game, but a role playing game where you create a party using the huge selection of characters from the FNaF games, including the classic, withered, toy, phantom, and nightmare versions. I've been working steadily on characters and hope to start on enemy models next week," the game developer said.

Cawthon also mentioned that the soon-to-be released "FNaF World" will have PC, Android, and iOS versions but he is still uncertain about the game's release date since it is still in its early stage of development.

The game developer also said that the demo may not be available for Halloween even if he wanted it to, since the new game will be definitely larger compared to the first four games in the "Five Nights at Freddy's" series. He still assured fans, however, that the demo will be released as soon as it becomes available.
