'Fear the Walking Dead' season 2 spoilers: Danger follows survivors to the open sea

 AMC Official

Even the ocean is not spared from the zombie invasion in the next season of spin-off series "Fear the Walking Dead."

During the first season finale, Travis Manawa (Cliff Curtis), Madison Clark (Kim Dickens), their families and a group of other survivors managed to get onboard Victor Strand's (Colman Domingo) high-end yacht, the Abigail, before the zombies caught up to them.

But while the group felt that they had already found a safe haven in the open sea, it seems that danger could still follow them wherever they go.

"You think you're going to be a little bit more isolated and safer maybe on water, but you quickly realize that other people have the same idea. With the coveting of goods and equipment from other ships, and what they're trying to get from you, I mean, there's a pirate element to it as well," Alycia Debnam-Carey, who portrays the role of Madison's daughter Alicia, said during an interview with Toronto Sun.

The actress also revealed that the show also added drowning and claustrophobia to the list of possible dangers that the survivors will have to face in "Fear the Walking Dead" season 2.

Meanwhile, Domingo shared with Entertainment Weekly that there will be a lot of new characters added when "The Walking Dead" spin-off returns for its second season. He also said that the pacing of the upcoming season will be a lot faster than in season 1.

"I know that the biggest comment of last season was that the pacing was very slow because it was building character and relationships and family. But now, when I tell you it is amped up, every episode is epic," the actor explained.

"Fear the Walking Dead" season 2 is scheduled to premiere on Sunday, April 10, on AMC. It will be immediately followed by an after-show titled "Talking Dead: Fear Edition," hosted by Chris Hardwick.
