'Fear the Walking Dead' spoilers: Can Nick save his mother and sister from the walkers in episode 3 'The Dog'?

 AMC

It seems like Nick (Frank Dillane) is the only one who knows the extent of the growing threat of the upcoming apocalypse, based on the recent trailer for the third episode of AMC's "Fear the Walking Dead."

In the trailer, Nick is hiding inside their home with his mother Madison (Kim Dickens) and sister Alicia (Alycia Debnam-Carey) to avoid any encounter with the infected. When Madison and Alicia peep through the window to check the situation outside after hearing several noises, Nick tells them to step away from the windows and to close the blinds. Then he urges his mother to explain to Alicia what is going on.

However, Madison believes that as long as her daughter has not seen anything yet, Alicia does not need to find out the reason why things are not the same as before.

Meanwhile, earlier spoilers revealed that Madison's boyfriend Travis (Cliff Curtis) is out to search for his son Chris (Lorenzo James Henrie). Chris is staying with his mother Liza (Elizabeth Rodriguez) and Travis wants to keep them safe from the ongoing riots. But the events in the streets force them to look for a place to stay, and they meet the Salazar family who takes them in. However, a fire suddenly erupts next door which prompts them to flee. But more riots are still happening in the streets, which means that the group is still unsafe.

Other reports claim that Madison and her children are going to break into a neighbor's house to get a shotgun but they get startled upon seeing a walker devouring a dead dog.

AMC released the official synopsis for the episode titled "The Dog," which reads: "After they escape a riot, Travis, Liza, and Chris seek refuge with the Salazars; Madison defends her home."

"Fear the Walking Dead" episode 3 airs on Sunday, Sept.13.
