'Fear Effect' game sequel news: Follow-up game drops to PC, Xbox One, PS4, and Switch

"Fear Effect Sedna" officially drops to all major platforms -- the PS4, Xbox One, Switch, and on PC.

After 18 years since it launched on the original PlayStation 1 platform, the sequel to Sushee's action, adventure game "Fear Effect' has finally dropped to major console players -- PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Pc, and on the Nintendo Switch.

The follow-up game titled "Fear Effect Sedna," whose release date was announced back in February, will offer players a new and reinvigorated look at the popular series.

Besides past series leads Hana, Rain, Glas, and Deke, the sequel introduces a new character in the form of Axel -- a conflicting character that is neither foe nor friend.

Players can also expect the game's unique death cutscenes bundled with stealth and puzzle side quests, which are reminiscent of the first game, to make an appearance in the current installment.

Benjamin Anseaume, founder of Sushee studio, expressed his excitement on the continued popularity of the game two decades after its initial debut. Anseaume had words of gratitude for Square Enix Collective, which made the game sequel possible.

"It feels great to breathe new life in an IP that gamers still had a lot of love for, even almost two decades on from its debut. Fear Effect Sedna managed to garner that community during its Kickstarter campaign and, now with the invaluable backing of Square Enix Collective and co-producer Forever Entertainment, it's time to tell a new tale with characters those fans will find so familiar," Anseaume said.

In other news, Sushee is intending to release a remake of the original title called "Fear Effect Reinvented," which will see a release on the following platforms: PS4, Xbox One, PC, and the Nintendo Switch.

Despite this confirmation, a release date for the remake has still not been announced as of present time.
