The wait will soon be over for the arrival of the mod support of "Fallout 4" on PlayStation 4.

Bethesda officially announced on Twitter that the next update for "Fallout 4" will finally include the PlayStation 4's mod support. However, the game developer did not mention when exactly will the update comes out.

Bethesda also mentioned on its official website that the Creation Kit for the PlayStation 4 edition of "Fallout 4" is already updated. Players are advised to visit the Bethesda.net Launcher to update their mod Creation Kit.

The game studio previously announced that PlayStation 4 manufacturer Sony will not allow mod support for "Fallout 4" and Bethesda's other fan-favorite game, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim," back in September. Sony's decision was immediately retracted in October, allowing mod creation for both games. However, Bethesda initially released the mod support for "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" as soon as the game came out on Oct. 28, but decided to hold off the release of the mod creation for "Fallout 4" until further notice.

In an earlier statement, Bethesda said: "Mods on PlayStation 4 will allow you to modify and create your own content by using our Creation Kit available here. You will not be able to upload external assets with your PlayStation 4 mods, but you will be able to use any assets that come with the game, as most mods do."

Although, several reports claim that the mod support for the PlayStation 4 edition of "Fallout 4" will somehow be limited compared to the mods for the game's Xbox One and PC editions. One of them is the restriction to use the game's external assets. This means that modders could not create custom sound, custom models, as well as custom scripts.

The mods for "Fallout 4" in PlayStation 4 are only plug-ins. It will also not allow archives.

Bethesda is expected to launch the mod support for "Fallout 4" on PlayStation 4 in the coming days.
