Bethesda has officially dropped the first "Fallout 4" beta update for the game's PC edition.

The fifth main installment of the "Fallout" series dropped by Bethesda on Nov. 10 came with several issues and glitches that needed to be sorted out. The game developer promised on its official blog last week to regularly roll out updates to fix the issues, saying that "process for updating the game will include releasing a beta patch on Steam, followed by full release on PC, then release on the consoles."

True to the promise, Bethesda released the new beta update 1.2.33, which includes:

  • General improvements for the game's memory and stability
  • Repaired the issue where the equipped weapons suddenly became locked after finishing the Reunions stage
  • Fixed the issue experienced with When Freedom Calls that prevents the quest from being completed
  • Repaired the issue where the player's health would continuously regenerate in Conference Man
  • Fixed the crash experienced when jumping into water and reloading saved games
  • Repaired the issue where the game's Launcher would not properly save God Rays Quality settings.

The new Beta Update 1.2.33 for "Fallout 4" also comes with two new features, including the ability of the number pad keys to be used for remapping, as well as the ability of the Remapping Activate to work on Quick Container.

However, Bethesda reminded players who will opt to run the Beta Update 1.2.33 to save their games. The game studio also provided the step-by-step instructions on running the beta on its website, which include:

  1. Log into Steam
  2. Then right click on the "Fallout 4" icon in the library
  3. Then select the Settings tab
  4. Click on the Betas tab
  5. Choose the Beta Update when a drop down menu appears
  6. Click on the OK option
  7. Wait until the "Fallout 4" is completely updated
  8. Check if the "Fallout 4" icon in the library turned into "Fallout 4 [beta]"

Meanwhile, those who want to opt out of the Beta can simply go through the first four steps, then select the None option.
