'Fallout 4' Far Harbor DLC: New waterborne enemy, secret weapon datamined

"Fallout 4" Far Harbor DLC Bethesda

Thanks to the ardent datamining of a group of "Fallout 4" players, new details about the weapons and enemies in the Far Harbor DLC come to light.

For a start, the datamine points to the existence of the so-called Ghoul Yao Guai, which players can imagine as a new enemy and a variant of the existing Yao Guai to be introduced in the Far Harbor DLC.

The "Fallout 4" Far Harbor DLC digging also resulted in the surfacing of what appears to be a Giant Squid. While there was no model of the creature, there were textures of its parts.

At the outset, it looks like the so-called Giant Squid will make for a nightmarish baddie for "Fallout 4" players when Far Harbor DLC lands next month. Could this sea creature be a hint at underwater exploration in the upcoming content?

On the other hand, the Harpoon Gun, which was discovered in the game a few months back, once again shows itself in the game files. However, it seems that developer Bethesda has no plans to make it officially available yet.

It looks like "Fallout 4" players could use such unique firearm. After all, a Ghoul Yao Guai and a Giant Squid will be crashing the party.

The Far Harbor DLC is the third expansion pack for "Fallout 4" to be released this May. The first one was the Automatron DLC and the second one to launch this month is called Wasteland Workshop.

Far Harbor will follow players in their search for a young woman and a colony of synths in the coast of Maine in the "mysterious" island of Far Harbor, a "more feral" world created by higher levels of radiation.

The official description for the "Fallout 4" DLC Far Harbor is as follows:

Navigate through the growing conflict between the synths, the Children of Atom, and the local townspeople. Will you work towards bringing peace to Far Harbor, and at what cost? Far Harbor features the largest landmass for an add-on that we've ever created, filled with new faction quests, settlements, lethal creatures and dungeons. Become more powerful with new, higher-level armor and weapons. The choices are all yours.
