'Elder Scrolls 6' release date news: title giving E3 a miss; may have 2019 launch

"Elder Scrolls 6" will not be here for longer than what fans have been expecting, according to the latest reports. Facebook/Elder Scrolls

"Elder Scrolls 6" is not going to turn up this year, according to the latest reports. This report was born out of developer Bethesda's recent job listing.

The game studio is looking for a seasoned character artist who will be asked to build and texture creatures and characters "for next generation products."

The company prefers a candidate with knowledge with role-playing games, specifically its most revered works such as the "Elder Scrolls" and "Fallout."

Since a new installment of the latter has been released this year, it is now believed that Bethesda is looking to find an artist to help them on a new iteration of the latter, presumably "Elder Scrolls 6."

The search for a new character gave the impression that the production is ongoing for the long demanded "Elder Scrolls 5" sequel. This meant that it won't be ready for an E3 showcase yet.

It also hinted that Bethesda is just starting its work on "Elder Scrolls 6," in which case, it will definitely be a long time before it sees the light of day.

Some reports are pointing to a 2019 release date, based on the release pattern of Bethesda in launching "Elder Scrolls" titles. The company almost always put out new titles every five years.

"Elder Scrolls Online" was released back in 2014. The game was eventually renamed "Tamriel Unlimited" and has recently received a massive update—Dark Brotherhood—and is bound to receive more.

If one were to follow the pattern, "Elder Scrolls 6" gets a 2019 release date. Since Bethesda is just searching for a new character artist for their team, assuming it's for the long-awaited title, this far-flung release date makes sense.

Bethesda is not one to rush its titles just to shorten the wait of fans. They spend years to put a game together to make sure it will be superb and is something fans will feel is everything they have been waiting for.

With "Elder Scrolls 6," Bethesda is expected to be applying the same way of thinking.
