'Elder Scrolls 6' release date: Bethesda director hints game could still be a long way off

The "Elder Scrolls 6" release remains up in the air. Bethesda Softworks

As it turns out, "Elder Scrolls 6" is nowhere near the horizon, if the latest statement of Bethesda director Todd Howard is anything to go by.

Howard said a few weeks back that the game studio is working on three new "big and crazy" games that he described as different from anything they've done but still has that signature Bethesda touch.

This easily had many hoping that "Elder Scrolls 6" is one of those titles, knowing that it is one of the most anticipated games from the game developer.

With the news about Bethesda shortening the time between game announcements and releases very hot that time, it made a bit of sense that "Elder Scrolls 6" will finally be around before the year ends.

However, during an interview with Game Industry, Howard made sure to clarify the three big "Bethesda-style" titles that are keeping them busy.

"I should have never said a number because we have so many things. You could add it up in different ways. You could say it's bigger or smaller. They're a long way off," Howard explained.

"I think the larger point was no one should expect to hear about those [games] anytime soon. We always overlap projects. We just have more going on now than we had before," he added.

Even if "Elder Scrolls 6" was one of the many projects that keeps Bethesda's hands full, it does not look like fans will see it in the flesh sooner than they hope.

There are tons of rumors suggesting that the highly anticipated "Elder Scrolls" iteration will be made official at the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo in June and that the game will be out a few months after.

But all that seems unlikely now after what Howard has stated. Nonetheless, fans continue to expect "Elder Scrolls 6" to someday materialize. How long they will have to wait for it remains to be seen.

If you look at the Church of England’s communications all that it ever seems to highlight is the good works that Christians do to improve the temporal well-being of their neighbours. It is right to highlight these things, but they are not the primary reason for the Church’s existence.
