'Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'' news: English dubbed home video editions release date in October

 Toei Animation

After the astounding box-office returns of "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" in U.S. theaters, film distributor FUNimation Entertainment announced that the film will be released in DVD, Blu-Ray and Digital HD home video editions in October.

The digital HD version of the 15th installment in the "Dragon Ball Z" movie franchise — the second one that was personally written by series creator Akira Toriyama — will be launched on Oct. 9, while it will be released on retail on Oct. 20.

FUNimation will come out with three different versions of the movie's home release, including the one-of-a-kind Collector's Edition that comes with the DVD and Blu-Ray combo pack with exclusive footages and cast interviews, O-Card, a special packaging, as well as four Frieza Force holographic postcards. The Blu-ray/ DVD combo pack also comes with behind-the-scenes footage, cast interviews, and red carpet footage, while the standard DVD release comes with a trailer.

The Collector's Edition has a regular price of $59.98, but will be sold for only $44.99 when pre-ordered. The Blu-ray/ DVD combo pack will sell for $34.98 and the standard DVD has a price tag of $29.98, but these will sell for only $26.24 and $22.49, respectively, when pre-ordered.

Aside from the discounted price, those who will pre-order the English-dubbed "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" will also have the chance to own a limited edition Shenron shirt for just $10.

"Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" had an impressive theatrical run despite having limited release dates in the U.S. in early August. It reportedly earned $1.97 million during its opening night on Aug. 4, and added another $1.6 million on its second day. It also had a huge success when it debuted in Latin American countries in mid-June, where it gathered $7.11 million during the film's opening weekend. The film is also a resounding success in Canada and Australia.

The current worldwide box-office earnings of "Dragon Ball Z: Resurrection 'F'" already reached $61.1 million, while its original Japanese version made roughly $5 million.
