'Dragon Ball Super' episode 29: Vegeta and Goku join Beerus and Champa's tournament

Dragon Ball Super Toei Animation

The previous "Dragon Ball Super" episode formally introduced the Champa saga to viewers. This exciting storyline is not only packed with rapid-fire action, it will be sure-fire hilarious as well, if episode 28 is anything to go by.

Champa made quite an entrance, in fact an explosive one that rattled Beerus who was asleep when Champa hurtled his way into the planet. He, in turn, blamed Goku and Vegeta for the ruckus but he realized it was his big twin brother's doing.

In the same "Dragon Ball Super" installment, Champa and Beerus went from brothers to rivals in a snap and this is partially because the former found it unfair for Beerus to enjoy all the great-tasting ramen in the galaxy and Beerus mocked and rubbed it in his face.

The two decided to get into an intergalactic battle but the stakes are higher than that, at least by their own standards. Champa wants to own universe seven's Earth and all of its heavenly ramen when he wins.

Beerus, on the other hand, sees this as a far more lucrative opportunity. He agrees to tussle and brawl, provided that he gets to take six of the legendary Super Dragon Balls for himself when he wins the whole thing.

The "Dragon Ball Super" episode did not end with a beginning of their brotherly warfare though. This is because they were made to realize that the brawl will cause irreversible destruction to their universes.

The two agreed to settle their differences with a mega-tournament. The two will choose fighters that will represent their universes. In a promo for the next "Dragon Ball Super" episode, it looks like everyone is excited for the fighting event.

The clip shows Champa wearing taunting smiles while Vegeta's expression showcases his interest in the battle. Goku is seen donning a new suit too but it does not look like he will be wearing that for a while since it is too big for him.

The fighting tournament should take shape when "Dragon Ball Super" episode 29 airs Jan. 31 on Fuji TV.
