"Doom," the first-person shooter game developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, launched an update on its Nintendo Switch version that features new motion controls and a party system to the game's multiplayer mode.

The update features new motion controls, in particular, motion aiming. The new control method allows players to tilt their Switch consoles for a more precise aiming rather than aiming with only the control stick alone. Moreover, players will also be able to adjust the control's sensitivity to their own liking. Aside from the new motion aiming, the update also features a party system added to the game's multiplayer mode. The party system makes it easier for players to form groups and play with other players on their friend list. The update also features a new game icon which matches the game's box art.

According to Bethesda's patch notes, the update also comes with improvements and fixes. The improvements for the update include an increase in the average resolution in lower-resolution areas of the game, implementation of central processing unit (CPU) optimizations and an additional Traditional Chinese language support. Meanwhile, the following issues that have been fixed in the update include the following — possible crash when using the BFG, audio issues when playing, an appearance of stretched textures in multiplayer, unresponsive controls in the game menu and incorrect ban notices received by players in multiplayer.

In the game, players take on the role of an unnamed space marine who is tasked to eradicate all the demons from Hell that have been released by the Union Aerospace Corporation on a future-set colonized planet Mars. There will be no such things as taking cover or stopping to regenerate health as the gameplay of "Doom" is meant to be fast-paced and relentless.

"Doom" is available on Nintendo Store for $59.99.
