'Doctor Who' season 10 spoilers rumors: Peter Capaldi to remain in the series beyond upcoming season?

Steven Moffat will be leaving "Doctor Who" after season 10, but should it mean Peter Capaldi will also leave the show?

The actor, who portrays the role of the Time Lord, revealed that BBC asked him to stay in the series even after the showrunner leaves the show after season 10.

"I've been asked to stay on," the actor told Radio Times.

But the actor has yet to make a decision regarding the offer. "It's such a long time before I have to make that decision," Capaldi said.

Moffat, the showrunner and head writer of "Doctor Who" since 2010, made the announcement about leaving the show early this year. He began working with Capaldi after Matt Smith relinquished the role of the Time Lord in 2013.

"Steven's been absolutely wonderful, so I love working with him. Chris is fantastic, and I think he's a hugely talented guy. I don't know where the show's gonna go then. I don't know. I have to make up my mind, and I haven't yet," the actor said.

Capaldi also shared several details about the upcoming season in a recent report from the publication.

According to the actor, "Doctor Who" season 10 will be full of action and have less drama.

"It might be a little less emotional, sort of," the actor revealed. "I think the emotional elements of it will come as a surprise to people."

The actor also teased that in season 10, the Time Lord will have to face a lot of cosmic challenges.

"And I think we've got quite a lot of that coming up, so I'm looking forward to taking the Doctor to the forefront of the cosmic battlefield," Capaldi revealed.

The premiere episode of "Doctor Who" season 10 was pushed back to spring 2017 to give way to a lot of sporting events, including the Olympics.
