DiRT 3 is finally moving to Steamworks.

Codemasters recently announced that the rallying video game will be finally released to Steamworks after they managed to break away from the closed Games for Windows Live platform. As an added bonus, they will also be upgrading all the games to the Complete Edition for free.

Codemasters community manager Lee Williams talked about the latest developments of DiRT 3 in his blog entry on Steam.

"First up I want to say sorry for just how long it has taken to move DiRT 3 to Steamworks and I would also like to thank you all for keeping up the pressure on us to move it over. Every day I have over a hundred notifications on my Steam account, there are threads thousands of comments deep about it and countless Tweets and Facebook messages - while you'd think it would be the kind of thing that would bug the hell out of me, you'd be wrong," Williams wrote.

He also mentioned they appreciate the fact that the fans continues to show their concern for the game, and game developers are hoping that fans could still support the game wherever it goes.

To show their appreciation to the players, the DiRT 3 Complete Edition will be given to all those who owns the DiRT 3 game, including all of the earlier released downloadable content for no added charge. Even those who purchased the game via retail stores can also avail of this offer, as long as they can still find their boxed copy and input the key code into Steam.

Aside from the removal of DiRT 3 on Games for Windows Live, the game developer also introduces new features in the game's new edition, such as the Steam Trading Cards as well as all of the DiRT 3 achievements.

Players can find all the details for the DiRT 3 transfer on Steam in its official website.
