'Devious Maids' season 4 air date: Sol Rodriguez says there will be mother-daughter drama

Devious Maids ABC, Lifetime

New cast member Sol Rodriguez has dropped a major bomb regarding her character Daniela Mercado ahead of the premiere of "Devious Maids" season 4 on Monday.

In an interview with the International Business Times, Rodriguez revealed that Daniela decided to try her luck in Beverly Hills to fulfill her dreams of being a Hollywood star whatever it takes.

The "Tierra de Reyes" alum also mentioned that Daniela's quest for stardom runs in her blood.

"[Daniela] comes [to Beverly Hills] thinking Carmen (Roselyn Sanchez) is her cousin, and throughout the season she finds out Carmen is really her mother," the actress stated.

Carmen confessed in season 3 that she had a child during her younger years, but she gave up that baby for adoption as she struggled to make it big as a singer.

"She has never wanted to have kids because the whole reason why she moved to L.A. was to make her dream come true," Rodriguez said.

Will Carmen embrace the fact that the child that she gave up several years ago has returned and share her aspirations?

The new cast member also revealed that fans of the show have a lot to look forward to in season 4.

"There's a lot going on this season," the actress stated. "You can't miss even one episode because there are so many stories going on surrounding the big [storyline] that if you go to the bathroom when the show is on, you've already missed a lot."

Aside from the mother-daughter drama, fans should also look forward to seeing actress Eva Longoria in the premiere episode of "Devious Maids" season 4. In an interview with TVLine, executive producer Sabrina Wind revealed that series creator Marc Cherry pitched the idea regarding the inclusion of the actress in the season premiere.

"I think it was just a fun way to showcase the pretend Eva Longoria that we have there. The real Eva is a delight, and this person she's playing is sort of a faux version," Wind said. "We just thought, 'Why not play off all the rumors and fun and scandal that we had for eight years on the air?' And Eva is such a great comedian. She sells that whole opening scene like nobody's business."

"Devious Maids" season 4 premieres on Monday, June 6, on Lifetime.
