'Destiny' Xur location, merchandise for Dec. 18 - 20 weekend

Xur once again visits the Tower this weekend, and he brought with him an assortment of exotic treats for players who want to upgrade their weapons and gear.

For this week, the Agent of the Nine can be seen in the Tower Hangar, on the right side of the stairs from the top portion of the Tower.

This time, the travelling merchant will offer the Year 2 version of the Hard Light.

VG247 offered an opinion regarding the latest version of the Hard Light auto rifle. The website said that players should only purchase the weapon if they just want to have a complete collection of exotic weapons since the impact of this rifle is not actually exceptional.

"The late perk that allows bullets to ricochet could be useful in confined spaces, but it's very situational, and you'll hardly make use of it in most cases. Add to this the fact that it doesn't carry any elemental damage, and you'd be hard pressed to give up your Exotic slot for it," the website said.

Aside from the Hard Light weapon, players can also get the following exotic items from Xur's current merchandise offerings:

  • An Insurmountable Skullfort - Titan Helmet - 35 Intellect, 36 Strength - 13 Strange Coins
  • Achlyophage Symbiote - Hunter Helmet - 40 Intellect, 37 Strength - 13 Strange Coins
  • Heart of the Praxic Fire - Warlock Chest Armour - 52 Discipline - 13 Strange Coins
  • Legacy Primary Weapon Engram - 31 Strange Coins
  • Three of Coins - 7 Strange Coins
  • Glass Needle - 3 Strange Coins

The last two items are consumable offerings that Destiny players can use whenever needed. The Three of Coins can be used to increase the drop rate of exotics during the combats with bosses, while the Glass Needle can be used if the player wants to reroll the stats of his exotic armor.

Xur, Agent of the Nine can be seen in the Tower until Sunday.
