February is still several weeks away, but developers Bungie has already confirmed an upcoming Valentine's Day event for their online multi-player shooting game "Destiny 2." Titled Crimson Days, the upcoming event will include a special player versus player event and new items.

Confirmation regarding the event was given after fans of the games started speculating on the online forum Reddit. Bungie community manager Cozmo23 joined in on the chatter on Jan. 10 and confirmed that the rumors were true. Cozmo23 stated in the thread:

"The rumors are true. Crimson Days are coming back. It will not be the same as last year time (2016). We will talk about how it is changing in the blog update on Thursday."

The confirmation was met with more questions, and with a handful of players speculating and chatting about what the event would bring in for the rest of the "Destiny 2" community. Some of the players on the Reddit forum were irritated by the announcement, stating that if the latest event was anything like The Dawning Christmas event, it would be better to not have an event at all.

Many of the players also brought up Destiny's tendency to include payments to receive items, stating that it would be better if they allowed the players to earn them instead of buying them.

Players' opinions aside, there will be new content for those interested in the event's gameplay mechanics. However, what Cozmo23 meant by changes will remain uncertain until the blog update on Jan. 11.

"Destiny 1" had a similar event for Valentine's Day. Also, titled Crimson Days, the event also came with an interesting tag team battle mode. According to PC Gamer, if "Destiny 2's" event is anything like the previous one from Bungie's first game, then players can expect an interesting tag team match, where players work together to defeat foes and receive buffs to aid them when their partners are knocked down.

Fans will have to wait for the blog post to see the event's specific additions to the game.
