The studio 20th Century Fox announced that "John Wick" director David Leitch will sit on the director's chair of "Deadpool 2."

Leitch will step on the post left by the film's original director Tim Miller, who decided to drop out of the sequel in October due to rumored "creative differences" with lead star and producer Ryan Reynolds.

According to The Wrap, Miller and Reynolds had different visions for the plot of the sequel. They also reportedly disagreed on the rumored casting of "Friday Night Lights" star Kyle Chandler as the character named Cable in the film sequel. Reports claimed that Miller wanted Chandler to be in the film, but Reynolds disagreed. This led them to clash on the set of "Deadpool 2."

The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Leitch was one of the top choices to direct the sequel to the 2016 box-office hit, including other acclaimed directors such as Magnus Marten, Rupert Sanders, as well as Drew Goddard. Leitch was offered the job soon after he met up with Reynolds in New York after Miller's departure in the movie.

The report also mentioned that Leitch is experienced with the action-movie genre, after he co-directed Keanu Reeves' revenge thriller "John Wick" with Chad Stahelski in 2014. He also worked as a stunt coordinator and second unit director for the 87eleven stunt company for several years for several blockbuster movies like "The Bourne Ultimatum," "Blade," "The Matrix" franchise, and "X-Men Origins; Wolverine," among others.

Leitch just recently concluded working on his second movie titled "The Coldest City" starring Charlize Theron.

On the other hand, other reports also claim that the film outfit is also plotting to develop a third installment of "Deadpool" while the sequel is still in the works.

"Deadpool 2" is expected to start filming in early 2017; then the studio will reportedly release the movie in January 2018.
