Popular Dungeon Crawling Roleplaying game "Darkest Dungeons" is making its way to the Nintendo Switch. The game was originally released on Jan. 19, 2016, for the PC. A bleak and challenging RPG, "Darkest Dungeon" is far from the average tale of heroics, and is instead, a story of adversity, hardship, and madness – a look at the darker aspects of adventuring.

Darkest Dungeon already announced on their Twitter page that they would be getting a Nintendo Switch port. The announcement was made on Jan. 10 and stated that the game would be available on the Switch on Jan. 18. Included in the announcement was a link to "Darkest Dungeon's" E-shop and an announcement from the developers, Red Hook Studios.

"Darkest Dungeon will be available for purchase on the Nintendo Switch eShop on January 18th! Set aside a few spare Joycons and read up on your Switch warranty in preparation for your struggle to survive the Darkest Dungeon!" The beginning of the announcement reads.

Aside from that, the announcement went on to state that the downloadable content packs Crimson Court and The Shieldbreaker would be available for purchase on the day of the game's release.

Crimson Court was the game's first DLC pack and unlocks a new class for players to use during their skirmishes in dungeons. Aside from that, it also adds a brand new location into the game alongside new enemies and new buildings for the players' Hamlet. It also brings in new trinkets, new bosses, and new map areas, making the already large and intimidating world of "Darkest Dungeons" even larger and more intimidating than before.

Meanwhile, Shieldbreaker, allows players to use the aforementioned class in combat. Similar to Crimson Court, it also unlocks new items for players to use and brings in new monsters to fight.

According to the announcement by the developers, on the day of its release for the Nintendo Switch, players will be able to purchase "Darkest Dungeons" for $24.99 while they will be able to purchase Crimson Court for $9.99 and "The Shieldbreaker" for $3.99.
