After a popular YouTube tipster channel leaked the early 2016 release date of "Dark Souls 3," an unreleased promo image for the upcoming installment of From Software's action role-playing franchise came out.
IGN managed to get a copy of the alleged "Dark Souls 3" promotional art that is meant to be showcased at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2015 this month. The image shows a heavily armored character engulfed in flames. Along with the character and the game title is the release window, which the poster reveals to be early 2016.
Game publisher Bandai Namco will reportedly be presenting the upcoming game at the annual video game trade show that will happen from June 16 to 18. However, the company declined to comment when pressed for added information about the game.
Aside from the release schedule, an earlier leak from The Know YouTube channel also mentioned that the gameplay allows support for one to four players, and they can opt to choose from 10 classes when they develop their characters. The leak also presented several screenshots as well as the game's new content, including the sacrificial-ritual mechanism and the alleged bonfire change that allows players to build their bonfires by themselves. The title is also said to have 45 new enemy types, a total of 15 new bosses, as well as 12 new map-areas.
"Dark Souls 3" serves as the sequel to the 2014-released "Dark Souls 2." In April 2015, an updated version called "Dark Souls II: Scholar of the First Sin" was released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC which includes a compilation of the game as well as all its downloadable content and patches.
More information about the upcoming title, including its gameplay and system requirements, is expected to be unveiled at the E3 2015 in Los Angeles, California.
