'Dance Moms' season 5 spoilers: Maddie Ziegler admits mommy fights are fake

Lifetime's hit reality dance show "Dance Moms" might have shown how the mothers of the students in Abby Lee Dance Company can get feisty just to make sure that their girls are given the spotlight, but one of the students admitted that some of the fights are fake.

In a recent interview with USA Today, Maddie Ziegler admitted that not everything in the reality show are real.

"It's hard to do a reality show when there's so much crying and drama. The producers set it up to make us all yell at each other," Abby Lee Miller's favorite student admitted.

The young dancer, who has been featured in two of Sia's renowned music videos ("Chandelier" and "Elastic Heart"), also claimed that the older members of the cast have to stage fights sometimes.

"You know how I said that moms do fight? The moms have to fake a fight sometimes," Maddie said. "Afterward they just start talking and laugh about it."

However, Maddie claimed that although not all the drama in the show are real, all the competition parts are genuine. Also, the star student of the show claimed that she and the rest of the girls are real friends.

"All of the girls on the show, they're my best friends," the 12-year-old young dancer said. "I have so much fun getting to work with my friends and my teachers and dance."

Meanwhile, Maddie is currently having the time of her life as she juggles her days filming for several TV appearances and specials. She previously joined Sia during her live Grammy performance, and guest starred in Disney's "Austin & Ally."

Right from the start of Lifetime's dance reality show, Abby has shown a special treatment for Maddie.

"Others may be socializing with friends. Maddie is focused on the teacher. Since the age of 4, Maddie's brain has kept her ahead of her peers. Maddie has had such a blast doing all these exciting things. I'm a little jealous I can't do them with her," the dance company director said

New episodes of "Dance Moms" season 5 airs every Tuesday on Lifetime.
