The D.I.C.E awards have released their list of finalists, and some of the games competing for various awards include: Cuphead, Horizon Zero Dawn, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds, Fire Emblem Heroes, Pyre, Night in the Woods, and a lot more. It is a long list with 24 different categories, and ever since it was released, gamers everywhere have started coming up with their own predictions.

The full list of nominees has already been published as well.

According to PC Gamer, it has been a good year for PC games. It has been a good year for indie developers too. "Cuphead" a run-and-gun shooter developed Studio MDHR made its way into the final nominees for a handful different categories. These categories include: Outstanding Animation, Outstanding Art Direction, Action Game of the Year, and the very coveted Game of the Year award.

An indie game with humble beginnings, "Cuphead" was released on Steam on 2017 after various delays. With its old-school art-direction and a wonderful original soundtrack, "Cuphead's" popularity soared. A handful of gamers were upset because of how challenging it was, and many ended up comparing it to "Dark Souls," but despite everything, it went on to receive overwhelmingly positive reviews on Steam. The game is currently available for purchase on the Steam store.

Aside from "Cuphead," another indie game vying for several awards is "Night in the Woods."

Developed by Infinite Fall, "Night in the Woods" is currently competing in these categories: Outstanding Achievement in Story and the D.I.C.E Sprite Award. A story-driven adventure game about a college dropout, "Night in The Woods" tells the story of Mae Borowski and the town of Possum Springs. Mae returns home one day to find out that one of her friends has gone missing, that the rest of her friends have changed, and that something strange is lurking in the woods near her home.

Indie games aside, the finalists for the Game of the Year award include,
"Cuphead," "Horizon Zero Dawn," "Player Unknwon's Battlegrounds," "Super Mario Odyssey," and "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."
