Emily Prentiss (Paget Brewster) will make her return to BAU in the next episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12.

In the episode titled "Taboo," the former BAU supervisory special agent will return from London to help her ex-colleagues solve a new case where several women went missing.

Based on the promo for the upcoming episode, the team will discover that the bodies of the missing women were chopped up and encased in layers of cement by the unsub who was responsible for their deaths.

The trailer also revealed that Reid found out that the bodies of the dead women all have chemical burns on them. This means the serial killer is trying very hard to hide the dead bodies.

But aside from the case, the trailer also revealed that Prentiss and the new BAU member, Luke Alvez (Adam Rodriguez), will have a special interaction in the upcoming episode. It seems like something happened between the two since Alvez told Prentiss that she should keep the thing that happened between them a secret.

Meanwhile, fans are now wondering what will happen to "Criminal Minds" after the exit of Thomas Gibson's character, Aaron Hotchner.

During the production of the episodes of "Criminal Minds" season 12, Gibson had an altercation with writer-producer Virgil Williams. The actor explained his side in an interview with People, saying that he only "tapped" Williams in the leg, and he already apologized to him the following day.

Gibson was initially given a two-week suspension after the incident, but the network ultimately dismissed him from the show in August 2016.

The actor revealed that he was unhappy with the network's decision, but he will use his new time doing other projects.

"My pride and reputation are hurt, but in the end I know the good work is what people will remember," he continues. "I just need more opportunities to do good work and be a good guy," Gibson said.

The next episode of "Criminal Minds" season 12 is scheduled to air on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at 9 p.m. ET on CBS.
