"Concrete Genie" is an upcoming PlayStation 4 game about bullying and escapism. The game was announced during the 2017 Paris Games week, and an announcement trailer was uploaded PlayStation's official YouTube channel on Oct. 30.

Almost three minutes long, the trailer begins with the protagonist Ash. Surrounded by bleak buildings, and sitting by himself, Ash doodles a monster in his notebook. The trailer starts out normal enough, but things take a turn for the magical when Ash finds a glowing quill lying by itself on a piece of rubble. With the quill in hand, Ash starts to graffiti some of the walls and realizes that the strange quill has the power to bring his drawings to life.

What follows is a magical journey. However, Ash still has the bullies to contend with.

Not much else has been revealed by the video, but the trailer has received positive reactions. There over 3,000 likes and a handful of the comments have commended both the game's graphics and music.

While the plotline has yet to be announced, the game has an official PlayStation page for gamers everywhere who are looking to learn more about the quirky game.

The page includes a synopsis that reads:

"Concrete Genie is a game about a bullied teenager named Ash, who escapes his troubles by painting spectacular living landscapes and mischievous creatures throughout his abandoned hometown of Denska. As he masters this magical paint, he discovers it can purify Denska's polluted walls. Can Ash overcome the bullies and paint his hometown back to life?"

The official page also includes a handful of screenshots, mostly involving the protagonist and his paintings. The paintings range from sprawling plant life to the quirky monsters first seen in his doodle notebook. Whether the game will have a larger overarching plot (not including the bullies), has yet to be seen and will have to wait for more announcements or trailers.

"Concrete Genie" is slated for a release sometime in 2018.
