The "Rise and Fall" expansion for the popular turn-based history-inspired game, "Civilization 6," is coming in just a few weeks. However, that does not stop developers from showing more and more new features, especially new civilizations (civs) and leaders approaching its release date. This time around, India is apparently getting another leader.

As an alternative to Gandhi, players who choose India can also choose Chandragupta. Although they are still both Indian, choosing one over the other will result in adjusting one's playstyle. As with the previous "Civilization" games, Gandhi would be more of a peaceful player putting out the balance in a war-prone area.

Chandragupta, on the other hand, is quite the opposite of Gandhi. Those who want to play India's civilization more aggressively will be satisfied with this new leader. Of course with a new leader and playstyle, there are new unique features that come with Chandragupta.

His unique ability is the Arthashastra, which can be triggered after fulfilling research on the Military Training civic. This allows him to have a War of Territorial Expansion, which then increases movement and combat strength. That said, this does not last long as the bonuses end after several turns.

His unique unit is the Varu, which is actually an army that passively decreases the combat strength of any enemy units nearby. On the other hand, the Stepwell is his unique tile improvement. This provides more housing and food. Lastly, he still gets to use India's ability, Dharma. This allows India to unite all the follower beliefs despite their own religion.

Previously, the "Rise and Fall" expansion teased other new features in the form of entirely new civilizations people can choose. So far, fans can expect Mongolia and Genghis Khan, Korea and Queen Seondeok, Netherlands and Queen Wilhelmina, and now, India's alternative leader, Chandragupta.

"Civilization 6" has already been out for a few months now. The "Rise and Fall" expansion, on the other hand, will be released on Feb. 8, 2018.
