Stephen Jackson has expressed interest to be back in the sport with more than a year after he announced his retirement. As per Chicago Bulls trade rumors, he will join the Rajon Rondo and Jimmy Butler on the team.

Jackson said that the superstars are pushing the 38-year-old Texas native to return to the sport and to play with them for the Chicago Bulls.

In an interview with Hoops Hype, Jackson said that he is thankful that throughout the 14 years he played basketball, he never sustained a serious injury and remained in tip top shape.

"So at the end of the day, God is still telling me I still have basketball left. I definitely enjoy doing the ESPN stuff, but I have two more years of basketball and I love the game," the superstar said.

"Obviously I'm not chasing the ring because I already have a championship so I just want to get back and take advantage of the game I have left. I know I have two good years left," he went on to say.

He also revealed that both Butler and Rondo "really want" him to be with the Bulls. "I'm getting calls and I will be ready and that's the biggest part," Jackson said.

At the moment, it is still unknown if the small forward is returning to the basketball court soon. A bigger mystery is whether or not he will play for the Chicago Bulls. His last team was the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Bulls are reportedly busy with DeMarcus Cousins of Sacramento Kings. According to Allana Tachauer of Hoops Habit, Chicago is interested with the All-Star big man, who is deemed perfect for the team.

"It has already been proven that he works well alongside Rondo. And currently, the big man is a part of Team USA with Butler. Additionally, there should be no reason why he and Wade would not be a good fit either," Tachauer wrote.

Cousins has also expressed his interest to play on the same team with his good friend Rondo. The Bulls also has the trade assets from Bobby Portis, Doug McDermott to Nikola Mirotic to make this deal happen.
