The world of eSports has seen growth over the years and it is nowhere near declining. Capcom seems to plan to ride on that growth having recently revealed that they are making a new eSports platform. This also comes after the news that they are making a new IP as well. It would not be a surprise if the new IP is actually the new eSports platform.

The news of a new Capcom IP first came out on, weirdly enough, the personal Facebook account of Kirk Black, Capcom's Vice President of Product Development. "Recently i joined Capcom as VP of Product Development with the charter to lead the creation of their eSport platform," reads the post.

"I'm creating and leading multiple teams including a server backend team based in Los Angeles and multiple game development teams based in Vancouver and Japan developing established Capcom IPs such as Street Fighter as well as creating new, original Capcom IP."

Unsurprisingly, they are working on a new games on their established franchises such as the "Street Fighters" series, the "Resident Evil" series, and the "Dead Rising" series. While this is entirely good news in itself, Capcom fans, who are also into eSports, can get the best of both worlds with their apparent new IP and new eSports platform.

Since the news of a new game came with the news of a eSports platform, it would definitely make sense if they hit two birds with one stone. The new game could entirely be made for the eSports world itself.

For now, there is not much details about neither the new game nor the eSports platform nor whether these two are even one and the same thing. If things go as planned for Capcom, fans can expect some news at least within the year as development will probably take a few years.
