Candace Cameron Bure attacked by online troll trying to body shame her

"Fuller House" star Candace Cameron Bure is proud of her fitness achievements, so when an online troll tried to body shame her in an Instagram post, Bure decided to fight back.

Bure posted a photo of herself with her son, Lev, outside of Nobu in Manila. She captioned the April 13 post (@candacecbure): "Nobu with @levvbure – celebrating a new direction." Bure was wearing a casual t-shirt paired with loose-fitting jeans and a denim jacket, and she was standing arm in arm with her son.

However, one online troll commented: "All that exercising, and you still look like you weigh more than your husband, did you change your diet?"

In response, Bure wrote: "If a 25-inch waist looks big to you ... then you're looking through an altered lens. Be well."

Bure's fans applauded her response and complimented her for showing kindness despite the criticism. One commenter praised the way in which Bure stood up for herself in such a graceful manner. "She did it in a very kind way, which is what you'd expect from a Christian," a woman praised Bure.

"[You] look gorgeous, I can't believe some people. I would kill to look like [you]. By the way, [you] don't look old enough to have a son that age," another commented.

"Some people just have nothing better to do than to try to shame someone else. You are beautiful and I hope you realize it! You are an amazing example of a godly woman and I love your attitude!" another Instagram user said.

Bure in fact suffered with an eating disorder in the past - something she opened up about back in May 2016. She told Entertainment Tonight that she used to struggle with bulimia, and she would turn to food for comfort.

"I dealt with it for several years, but it wasn't about body image and trying to feel good," she explained. "It was about trying to find comfort or fill voids within myself."

Thankfully, Bure was able to overcome her eating disorder, and nowadays, health and fitness are two very important things in her day-to-day life. "It's about taking care of your body and eating foods that are good for you and getting the right exercise that you need," she said.
