On a live stream on Feb. 12, the developers of the game "Camelot Unchained" announced that the Beta 1 of the game will open on July 4.

As mentioned earlier, the opening date of the Beta 1 was announced via a live stream. The developers also posted an announcement of the news in the official website of the game wherein they stated that opening date was made following a full week of testing with the Information Technology (IT) and Alpha teams. The developers also extended their gratitude to the game's players for helping them find and fix stability issues that were essential for the upcoming beta. Moreover, the developers said that the next several weeks will be partially focused on new gameplay mechanics as well as art for the next scenario.

Mark Jacobs, the designer of the game exclusively told Eurogamer that Beta 1 will be a closed beta. Players will need to have backer privileges or to buy the game first in order to play. Jacobs also emphasized that Beta 1 should not be considered an Early Access release. He said that considering Beta 1 as such will be an abuse of the meaning of what Early Access is on Steam.

Eurogamer also gave more details regarding the closed data. According to the site, Beta 1 will act as a test to the game's core mechanics that includes building, crafting, character persistence, world persistence, unique classes bonuses and racial bonuses in the different events present in the beta. The update will feature more closed arena Saturday Night Sieges and more open-world Contested Islands. Beta 1 will also feature small and big fights. Eurogamer pointed out that big fights are the aim of "Camelot Unchained" — wherein up to thousands of people will join the fight smoothly and simultaneously.
