With less than a day away from the game's official release, Treyarch drops an early holiday gift for PC gamers after announcing that it will soon introduce several modding and mapping tools for "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" next year.
The game developer announced the big news on the official Treyarch Community forums, saying it has decided to allow modding and mapping in "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" so the gamers can practice their creativity.
According to Treyarch's Director of Development Cesar Stastny, the game studio is planning to introduce Maps & Game Modes as well as other additional features like the Unranked Dedicated Server Files, which come with tools that players can use to run servers that have modded content anywhere they want to.
It will also have an Unranked Server Browser that can help gamers find and join servers with modded content faster.
However, Stastny reminded PC players of "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" that the development of software such as these may not work according to plan, which means that some of the features mentioned can change or improve before its target release date of March 2016.
The upcoming installment from the "Call of Duty" game franchise will allegedly be the most PC-friendly compared to its past versions since its minimum system requirements are relatively low. It includes at least a Windows 7 64-Bit / Windows 8 64-Bit / Windows 8.1 64-Bit operating system, Intel Core i3-530 @ 2.93GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 810 @ 2.60GHz processor, 6 GB of RAM memory, NVIDIA GeForce GTX 470 @ 1GB / ATI Radeon HD 6970 @ 1GB graphics processor, DirectX Version 11 with a compatible sound card, as well as a stable Broadband Internet connection.
Aside from the PC edition, "Call of Duty: Black Ops 3" will be released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 editions on Friday, Nov. 6.
