It always pays to be loyal.

Bungie, the game studio responsible for the hit first-person shooter "Destiny," recently revealed that they want to reward all their loyal fans who have been with the game from the start. Of course, even the most loyal players still have to finish a certain challenge to get their reward.

The announcement about the reward happened during the game studio's Bungie Day on July 7, held to give recognition to the community who support their games. The studio also refers to the players who have been with the game since the first day of its release as the "Destiny Year One" players.

The reward, which Bungie calls the "Laurea Prima," is an emblem which deserving Destiny Guardians can proudly possess. It can only be achieved once the player manages to complete all the tasks under the "Moments of Triumph" challenge.

Here are the tasks that a Guardian has to complete in order to finish the Moments of Triumph challenge:

  • Apprentice of Light - The task is considered complete when a character managed to reach the maximum level
  • Light of the Garden - Guardians should defeat the dark heart of the Black Garden
  • Light in the Dark - Guardians must stop the summoning of Crota's Soul
  • Light of the Reef - The task is finished after the Guardians have captured Skolas in the Vex Citadel
  • Bane of Skolas - The Guardians must beat the Prison of Elders using the Hard Difficulty level
  • Bane of Atheon - The Guardians must beat Atheon using the Hard Difficulty level
  • Bane of Crota - The Guardians must beat Crota using the Hard Difficulty level
  • Public Servant - Guardians must come up with all the 50 Public Events
  • Crucible Gladiator - Destiny Guardians should manage to win 100 Crucible Matches
  • Chest Hunter - The Guardians must discover all the locations of all the Golden Chests

Players can record their progress in each completed Moments of Triumph stage using the Destiny companion app. However, they only have until Sept. 9 to complete the challenges to be able to receive the Laurea Prima emblem.

The awarding of the Laurea Prima will happen in time for the release of the "Destiny: The Taken King" DLC on Sept. 15.

Then there is also the Destiny Year One Art Contest, where anyone is invited to submit a video, photo, or artwork showing their vision of the Guardians that manage to settle into the Tower.  The best entry will earn a Blacksmith Shader, and the top seven participants will get a "Destiny: The Taken King" Collector's Edition. This competition will last for two weeks, and all entries must be submitted no later than July 23.
