After drafting former Detroit Pistons guard Will Bynum last Friday, President Danny Ainge of Boston Celtics is expected to talk to him on Saturday to discuss his future with the team.

According to two reliable NBA sources, the management and coaching staff of the Celtics are still weighing their decision whether to let Bynum play for the team this season.

The 31-year-old veteran had reportedly gone through a physical exam in Boston, but he will not be wearing the Celtics uniform during the team's next pre-season game on Sunday.

Bynum was acquired by the team after trading center Joel Anthony. Earlier rumors mentioned that Celtics decided to get him to fill up the spot that Phil Pressey will reportedly vacate, yet the point guard never left the team.

It is believed that he will unlikely get favorable playing time with the Celtics since the team already has three point guards on the roster, including star player Rajon Rondo, Pressey, and Marcus Smart.

Mark Bartelstein, Bynum's agent, discussed his client's plans in an interview with ESPN. He said that they are planning to wait and see what will happen over the next few days before they lay out any concrete decisions.

The Celtics is also allegedly weighing on making any decisions about Bynum's status as of the moment, since the team is still evaluating what is the best move for its roster.

There are 15 roster spots on the team, but the Celtics gave out 16 guaranteed contracts including one for a rookie named Dwight Powell. It means that the team has no choice but to waive one player who got a guaranteed deal or to come up with another trade to cut down the list before the season begins on Oct. 29. Bynum is the first and most sensible choice to be waived by the team.

If Bynum will be waived and become a free agent, there are speculations floating around about the Lakers' possible interest in acquiring him this season.

The Celtics will face the Brooklyn Nets when NBA season 69 starts on Oct. 29.
